Info For You

What time and where do I meet for my private Powder Program?

All private Powder Programs meet at 8:25am by the blue flag at the on-snow meeting area at the base of the Champion #1 chairlift in Akakura Resort.

What does the program include?

Your private instructor/guide will show you and your small group of friends or family (max 4) around the best off-piste / powder slopes for the morning according to snow & weather conditions.

Do I need a lift ticket and is one included in the cost?

A valid Akakura Resort lift pass is required for all participants. Lift tickets are not automatically included in the program cost, but are available for purchase at the resort’s ticket windows or the Myoko Snowsports office.

Can we book our family in for a Powder Program all together?

This is possible however we strongly recommend all participants are of similar ski or snowboard ability (at least strong-intermediate) and experience. We also recommend everyone be aged 10 or older (powder is very challenging for younger children).

Can I book a Powder Program for one ski participant and one snowboard participant to go together?

If all skiers and snowboarders are already experience in powder this is possible, however we generally don’t recommend it due to the difference in lines skiers and snowboarders refer to ride in powder.

Do your instructors/guides speak English?

Yes. All our guides & instructors speak either native or fluent English and all programs are run in English. We have a large number of instructors from around the world, as well as from Japan.

If you have a request for a private lesson in another language (French, German, Dutch, Swedish) please check with us for availability.

If you are interested in programs run in Japanese please let our reservations team know and they can recommend another local Japanese snowsports school to you.

Should I book in advance?

We recommend booking well-prior to your arrival to ensure availability, particularly from 20 December to mid-February. Please contact our team at reservations.akakura@myokosnowsports.com if you have any questions.
