Info For You
What time and where do I meet for the Discover Myoko program?
The Discover Myoko program meets at 1:15pm by the Blue Private flag at the on-snow meeting area at the base of the Champion #1 chairlift in Akakura Resort.
What does the program include?
Your private guide will show you around the Akakura Kanko and Onsen resort areas. They will give you information on the best spots to ski and snowboard according to your ability level as well as great spots for lunch, easiest return access to your hotel and other useful ‘insider’ knowledge to help make things easy and fun for getting around the resort and village.
Do I need a lift ticket and is one included in the cost?
A valid Akakura Resort lift ticket is required for all participants. Lift tickets are not included in the lesson cost but can be purchased at the resort’s ticket office or any Myoko Snowsports front desk. To make the most of the Discover Myoko program, we recommend a combined Akakura Kanko/Onsen lift ticket.
Can we book our family in for Discover Myoko all together?
You are welcome to book Discover Myoko for you and your children. We recommend that all participants are of sufficient ability to explore the entire mountain with little or no instruction, to ensure that you have the chance to view as much of the resort as possible.
Can I book Discover Myoko for one ski participant and one snowboard participant to go together?
Yes, you may so long as they are of similar general riding ability. The instructor will typically be on the equipment of the Discover Myoko booking, please make sure if you have a preference to select the correct gear.
Do your guides speak English?
Yes. All our guides and instructors are either native or fluent in English and all lessons are run in English. We have a large number of instructors from around the world, as well as from Japan.
If you have a request for a private lesson in another language (Korean, Dutch, Spanish, French, Danish, Czech) please check with us for availability.
If you are interested in programs run in Japanese please let our reservations team know and they can recommend another local Japanese snowsports school to you.
Should I book in advance?
We recommend booking well before your arrival to ensure availability, particularly from the 20th of December to mid-February. Please contact our team at akakura@myokosnowsports.com if you have any questions.
