Info For You
What time and where do we go for child care?
Child care is located on the ground floor of our Myoko Snowsports Akakura Snowsports School building. The link to Google Maps can be found here. Daily drop-off is available from 8:00 am for Morning and Full Day Sessions and is available from 1:15 pm for Afternoon Sessions. Pick-up is until 1:00 pm for Morning Sessions and 4:15 pm for Full Day and Afternoon Sessions.
What does child care include each day?
Our childcare professionals have years of experience caring for children of all ages from around the world. They offer a safe, nurturing, and fun-filled environment where your child will enjoy a range of activities such as games, storytime, drawing, snacks, rest time and outdoor snow play whenever the weather allows.
Both morning and full-day sessions include lunch, and we’re happy to accommodate any dietary requirements required.
What are the educator-children ratios and max capacity per session?
We prioritise individual attention and care with a low educator-to-child ratio of 1:4, ensuring that each child receives the focus and support they deserve. With a maximum of just 8 children per session, we create a more personalised, safe, and engaging environment for your little ones to thrive.
My child is 3 years old, do you recommend child care or your Mini Mountaineers ski program?
The Mini Mountaineers ski lesson program is for children from 3 years old, and is available either morning or full-day. Many 3 year olds get tired quickly while skiing, and so one good option is to book them in for the morning Mini Mountaineers program and then our Indoor Aftercare program for the afternoon.
Note: Children must be toilet-trained to join our Mini Mountaineers program.
Do your educators speak English?
Yes, all of our childcare professionals are either native English speakers or fluent in the language, ensuring they can communicate effectively with all children.
What should we bring to childcare?
All children should be coming in with:
- A water bottle: Preferably labelled
- Suitable attire for outdoor snow play: We try to go outside when we can, and it will most likely be cold, so your child must have the appropriate clothing so they can participate.
- At least one spare set of clothes: Accidents happen, it is always better to be prepared!
Additionally, depending on your child’s development and needs, you may also need to pack;
- Nappies: we do have wipes available, however, if your child has sensitive skin, you may want to pack your own.
- Formula/Milk: We supply cow’s milk, all other milks and formulas need to be brought in along with a milk bottle. We do have boiled water and bottle warming facilities.
- Comfort Items: Any items that your child finds comforting or needs for sleep, e.g. pacifiers, blankets, or toys.
- Medication: We do not keep any form of medication on hand, so if your child requires medication, please ensure it is packed in its original packaging and fill out a medication authorisation form at drop off.
We do have spare essentials available in case of an emergency; however, they are limited, so we appreciate all children having the items listed above. If you have any special requirements or concerns regarding your child’s needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us ahead of time.
What is your policy on sick children?
To prioritise the health and safety of all children and staff, we kindly request that children who are feeling unwell remain at home. If your child becomes sick while in our care, we will notify you right away to arrange for pickup. Children may return to childcare 24 hours after their symptoms have improved to ensure they are no longer contagious.
Should I book in advance?
While we do accept walk-ins, we strongly advise having a booking before arriving as spaces are limited. Please contact our team at akakura@myokosnowsports.com if you have any questions.
