Info For You

What time and where do I meet for my Adult Super 4 Group Snowboard Lesson program?

All groups meet at 1:45pm by the red flags at the on-snow meeting area near the base of the Magic Carpet lift outside the Village Gondola Station in Arai Snow Resort.

First Time riders (L1) have an additional lesson time option in the morning of their first day from 10:30am to 12:45pm.

What will the program include each day?

Your instructor will guide you through the steps to take your snowboarding to the next level. You’ll explore terrain tailored to your skill level, ensuring an optimal learning environment. From mastering fundamental techniques to gaining confidence on the slopes, our program is structured to provide you with a comprehensive and enjoyable snowboarding experience.

How do I know if I am Level 1 or 2?

Level 1 if it is your first time skiing, or you would like a refresher on balancing, stopping and turning in a snowplough.

Level 2 if you can comfortably stop in a snowplough and perform basic snowplough turns on a gentle beginner run.

If you can link turns from snowplough to parallel on harder beginner runs then you would be Level 3, and in this case please look at booking a private lesson instead.

If I progress past Level 2, are there still group lessons available?

Once you’ve made it beyond Level 2, our focus shifts to more personalized instruction to fine-tune your skills. We don’t offer group lessons for adults beyond this stage, but check out our private lessons page [here] for some one-on-one coaching. We’ll help you level up your snowboarding at your own pace.

Can I book multiple days if I am level 2?

Currently, we only allow one-day bookings at a time for Level 2 participants. This approach ensures that everyone is placed in the appropriate group based on their skill level. You’re welcome to book additional days after each session, pending a review of your progress. This ensures you receive the best instruction tailored to your needs.

Will I have the same instructor each day?

We try to offer as much consistency as possible in your program by you riding with the same instructor each day. It is possible you may change instructor during your program due to our weekly roster change-over, or if you progress your technique at a different rate to others in the group.

Do I need a lift ticket and is one included in the cost of the program?

A valid Arai Snow Resort lift pass is required for all participants. Lift tickets are not automatically included in the lesson cost, but are available for purchase at the resort.

Do you recommend group or private lessons?

Both group and private lessons can be great depending on your goals and budget.

Private lessons are the best for quickest skill improvement and for meeting personal goals, but are a higher price.

Group programs are a great way to meet other boarders of a similar ability level during the program, and are a lower price.

Do your instructors speak English?

Yes. All our instructors speak either native or fluent English and all lessons are run in English. We have a large number of instructors from around the world, as well as from Japan.

If you have a request for a private lesson in another language (French, German, Dutch, Swedish) please check with us for availability.

If you are interested in lesson programs run in Japanese please let our reservations team know and they can recommend the Japanese snowsports school to you.

Should I book in advance?

We recommend booking well-prior to your arrival to ensure availability, particularly from 20 December to mid-February. Please contact our team at arai@myokosnowsports.com if you have any questions.
