Snowboard Powder Sessions are for advanced level adult (15+) snowboarders wanting to ride fresh morning powder. An 8:30 start time for first-lifts means you get the best snow conditions possible. Your coach will show you around Akakura’s powder spots, and give you tips to help you achieve fluid riding through deeper snow.

Snowboard Powder Sessions meet at 8:25am by the blue flag at the on-snow meeting area at the base of the Champion #1 chairlift in Akakura Resort.
Your coach will show you around fun powder terrain in Akakura to find the best snow. You will get tips and tactics for riding deeper snow to maximize your enjoyment of Japan’s famous powder.
Powder Sessions are for advanced level snowboarders that are already confident riding ungroomed terrain. If you haven’t ridden deep powder before that’s fine – this is the session for you. If you are not confident riding ungroomed terrain we recommend doing a Super 4 lesson program first enhance your skills.
A valid Akakura Kanko/Onsen combined lift ticket is required for the session. It is not automatically included, however it can be purchased from either of our shops.
Yes. All our coaches/instructors speak either native or fluent English and all programs are run in English. We have a large number of instructors from around the world, as well as from Japan.
If you are interested in lesson programs run in Japanese please let our reservations team know and they can recommend another local Japanese snowsports school to you.
We recommend speaking with our front desk team in our shop upon your arrival in Myoko. They will check the snow forecast and then advise the best day to book (availability dependent).
